Still time to nominate for NUH’s annual awards
There are just days left to register your nominations for Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust’s (NUH) annual awards. Nominations will close this Friday (23 August) so there is still time to you get your nomination in before it’s too late!
Categories include Team of the Year, Unsung hero of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Caring and Helpful award and Clinical Star award. The Team NUH Awards are sponsored by Nottingham Hospitals Charity.
One of the categories up for grabs is the Community Champion Award. Sue Whitehead and Evette Broughton, Community Champions for Clifton Morrisons have been nominated for the award by Emily Milvaney, Ward Sister at NUH. She said “Evette and Sue have supported the Trauma and Orthopaedic Wards for the last two years.
“They are only ever a phone call away and they donate everything from Easter eggs, Valentine’s Day treats, table cloths and more recently they delivered strawberries and cream for 83 patients to celebrate Wimbledon!
“They also do a lot of work with the children’s wards by taking part in play sessions, bread and pizza making and made an assortment of knitted blankets for patients.”
Evette and Sue said: “Every time we visit the hospital we never stop laughing and we try to accommodate anything and everything possible to make both the staff and patient’s lives easier. We always leave with a big smile at the end of a day”
“At Easter we collected over 100 Easter eggs and randomly handed them out to staff it was a treat to see their faces light up!
“We’re honoured to be nominated for the Community Champion award. We really enjoy what we do and to be recognised as making a difference really makes it worth it.”

The Community Champion Award is for an individual or group from the community who have supported and fundraised for NUH, benefitting patients and staff at our hospitals.
