you have symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) – a high temperature, a new continuous cough, or a loss of, or change in, your normal sense of smell or taste (anosmia) – the advice is to stay at home for 10 days. Information on self-isolation rules if a member of your household tests positive for Covid-19 or if you are classed as a contact, can be found here.

If you think you have symptoms, please do not attend your hospital appointment until you are advised it is safe to do so. Please contact us to rearrange your appointment, or to re-organise treatment and tests.

Heart Services

Our Heart Service is a regional centre for speciality care across Nottinghamshire and parts of Lincolnshire and Derbyshire for adult patients with all heart disorders, including angina, heart attack, heart failure and heart rhythm disorders.

The department also provides a large outpatient service at City Hospital. The team holds several cardiology outpatient clinics each week and sees around 4,800 new patients and 12,500 follow-up patients each year.

Quality and safety are our top priorities and we have very good patient reported outcomes.

We are also a dedicated heart attack centre and provide dedicated round-the-clock emergency care for heart attack patients who are brought to the Trent Cardiac Centre at City Hospital.

We have a very successful specialist service which treats around 400 patients a year, reducing the length of hospital stays and mortality rates compared with the previous treatment with clot-busting drugs.
