If you have symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) – a high temperature, a new continuous cough, or a loss of, or change in, your normal sense of smell or taste (anosmia) – the advice is to stay at home for 10 days. All members of this household should remain at home for 14 days.

If you think you have symptoms, please do not attend your hospital appointment until you are advised it is safe to do so. Please contact us to rearrange your appointment, or to re-organise treatment and tests.

Cancer care

We are a leading Cancer Centre specialising in diagnosis, treatment, research and education.

We provide services to the local population of Nottingham and we are the main tertiary specialist referral centre for hospitals in Lincoln, Sherwood Forest and Derby and the Nottingham Treatment Centre. We also receive referrals from Leicester and beyond for complex and rare cancers.

We are the main treatment centre for child and young adult cancers. In partnership with Leicester Hospitals, and with help from the Teenage Cancer Trust, we host one of the region’s teenage and young adult units.

We carry out ground-breaking clinical research into new cancer drug therapies and treatments.

Working with partners in Cambridge and Leicester, we were also one of 11 national Genomic Medicine Centres taking part in the 100,000 Genomes project.

Patient experience and support

We constantly strive to improve the experience of patients and their families in our hospitals, tailoring our care to meet individual needs.

We work closely with GPs and community services to join up the patient’s cancer journey. Maggie’s Centre at City Hospital provides a drop-in service offering practical, emotional and social support.
