Welcome to our new Non-Executive Director

We're pleased to welcome a new Board-level member to Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH) to join our pursuit to become outstanding for health outcomes and excellent patient and staff experience.

Anita Day joins ‘team NUH’ on 15 April 2019 in the role of Non-Executive Director.

Anita has significant experience as a Chartered Accountant, executive leader and business coach and Board-level experience spanning the private, public and third sectors.

Anita was the European Culture Transformation Leader for IBM Global Business Services 2015-2018. Prior to this she was Leader of L&K Learning Consultants for GBS Europe Responsibilities, and Global Learning and Channel Enablement Leader, also for IBM Global Services. Anita’s earlier experience includes practicing as a qualified Chartered Accountant with Hays Allan, a partner in Hill Day Chartered Accountants and Founder and CEO of Adlibs Professional Courses Ltd.

Anita has a track record and expertise of driving transformation across large, complex organisations, as well as delivering improvements in culture transformation, change leadership, inclusion and workforce strategy, cross-system engagement and NHS Trust Strategy and Governance.

Eric Morton, NUH Chair, said: "Anita’s appointment will further strengthen our Board and ensure we have the right strength and depth of experience across Non-Executive, Associate Non-Executive Director and Executive Director positions that we need moving forward to address the challenges we face and deliver NUH’s ambitious future strategy. Culture and leadership, workforce planning and transforming our services to ensure they are fit for the future are right at the heart of our new long-term strategy and consistent with the direction of travel in the system’s future strategy, and Anita can add significant value in these areas and others. I am confident that her fresh perspective and considerable experience in each of these areas, as well as the experience she brings as a Non-Executive Director in an acute NHS Trust, will serve to further strengthen our Trust Board. I look forward to welcoming Anita to her first Board meeting at the end of April.”

This is a replacement Non-Executive position at NUH. Anita will become a member of relevant Trust committees and will attend Board meetings. Her salary will be £6,157 and length of contract is three years.
