LUSH visit Nottingham Children’s Hospital
Cosmetics brand LUSH was welcomed by young patients at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH) this week, with children getting the chance to take part in fun make-your-own bath bombs workshops.
The event left smiles all round, as the children who are current patients at our hospital, had fun creating their very own fresh products.
Lisa Smith, a Play Specialist based at Queen’s Medical Centre (QMC), where the Nottingham Children’s Hospital is based, believes visits like this one are a welcome distraction for the children who might be going through a tough time.
Lisa said: “We are delighted to welcome LUSH to the Children’s Hospital for a morning of interactive and fun workshops. For the children to have a visit like this is really amazing for them.
“Events like these break up the day and it’s something for the children to enjoy rather than staying on the ward in bed. Seeing the smiles on the children’s faces really does make it all worthwhile.”
Denise Wells, a parent, said: “It’s great that the children get the chance to spend time off the ward and take part in activities like these. It brings a smile to their face and they get chance to spend time with other children outside of the hospital environment too.”
The children enjoyed adding glitter to their creations and many planned to gift their handmade bath bombs to their parents.
Amber Frost, Store Assistant from LUSH Nottingham, said: “It’s been great to bring a little bit of LUSH magic to the Nottingham Children’s Hospital. We’re so happy that the children enjoyed today’s workshops and it’s been great to see them getting involved with the activities that we’ve had on offer.”
