Run to work

Considering making your commute part of your daily workout? We actively encourage staff to walk, run or cycle to work!

Running to is simple, free and one of the easiest ways to get more active, save money, lose weight and become healthier.

NUH has a number of changing rooms, lockers and showers to aid you in your run to work. To find out more on how to access these please email us at cycling@nuh.nhs.uk

Before you start:

If you're running to work, you should wear some exercise clothes instead of usual work clothes, with a comfy pair of shoes, and change when you get into work.

Make sure you wear any shoes or trainers that are comfortable, provide adequate support and do not cause blisters.

For longer runs in the summer, you may want to take some water, sunscreen and a sun cap in a small backpack.

If you are running in winter please make sure you are prepared for adverse weather conditions, and take caution when running in the dark.
