Intellectual Property

When we talk about Intellectual property (IP) we are describing new ideas, information and knowledge.

Managing and protecting Intellectual Property is one of a number of ways we ensure that our patients and the wider public benefit from the results of the research and from the innovations in treatment and care developed at NUH.

Protecting our ideas so that they can benefit the NHS is an important principle of our work, and to help guide researchers through the sometimes complex legal framework, we have a dedicated IP expert as part of the Research & Innovation Department.
