Clinical Guidelines, Trust Policies and Standard Operating Procedures (KoHA)

Clinical guidelines are guidelines only. The interpretation and application of clinical guidelines remains the responsibility of the individual clinician. If in doubt contact a senior colleague or expert. Caution is advised when using a guideline after the review date.

For any queries please contact: clinicalguidelines@nuh.nhs.uk.

Guidelines can be accessed below, via the KoHA system.

KoHA: Clinical Guidelines, Trust Policies and Standard Operating Procedures

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT NOT ALL NUH GUIDELINES ARE INCLUDED ON THIS SITE. GENERALLY OUT OF DATE GUIDELINES ARE REMOVED.

FOR ANY MISSING INFORMATION, PLEASE SPEAK TO THE RELEVANT CLINICIAN.

The term policy within NUH encompasses all documents that outline our expectations for addressing issues/processes that affect our whole organisation. They are separated into 4 main categories:

  • Clinical
  • Governance
  • Health & Safety
  • Human Resources

The documentation control sheet at the front of each policy provides the approval, implementation and review dates and other important information such as the version number and a summary of changes made from the previous version.

If you would like to request previous versions of policies or have a query regarding a specific policy you can do this via the freedom of information process. Details of how to make freedom of information requests can be found on our FOI page.
