Neurosurgery Refer-a-patient

Refer a Patient

We use an online referral system to ensure quick access, accurate information transfer, and a full record of all neurosurgical referrals.

Access the Refer-a-Patient system

Important: We only accept referrals from clinicians and do not take direct referrals from patients.

Spinal Referrals

There is a dedicated orthopaedic spinal unit at Queen’s Medical Centre (QMC). Referrals relating to spinal trauma or vertebral metastases should be discussed with the spinal unit in the first instance.

MDT Referrals

For brain tumours, spinal cord tumours, or spinal nerve sheath tumours, if the Neurosurgery SpR on-call advises MDT discussion via Refer-a-Patient, you must also complete the relevant MDT referral form below.

This ensures the MDT has full clinical context. Outcomes will be emailed to referrers after the meeting so patients can be informed of their treatment plan.
