NUH is committed to supporting flexible training and our Resident doctors training Less Than Full Time doctors.
There is a dynamic team who are proactive and dedicated to supporting LTFT doctors at NUH which includes:
- LTFT Champion
- LTFT Fellow
- Medical Workforce
- Project Support Officer
As a team we will help to drive your query forward and signpost to the best place for solution.
LTFT doctors at NUH are encouraged to attend quarterly forum and focus groups, dedicated to building a LTFT community, sharing best practice, and working through and support challenges. We also regularly send out a satisfaction survey, to ensure the LTFT doctors experience at NUH is the best we can offer.
The LTFT have developed documents of support for all aspects of being an LTFT doctor, from anyone considering going LTFT including the NUH developed LTFT guide (please see link below), which is now being rolled out nationally, implication on training, salary, rota and Visa’s to ongoing support.
The team also closely support our Educational Supervisors, with training sessions and documents to support them with supporting LTFT doctors, NUH Educational supervisor ES checklist and ES training package now offered regionally.
LTFT Team at NUH regularly meet with the Medical Workforce rota Coordinators to improve rota design for LTFT colleagues.
Curriculum Study Leave
Study Leave (now called 'Curriculum Study Leave') is available to each trainee throughout their training programme in addition to holiday entitlement. It is intended to allow trainees to address areas of professional development relevant to their chosen career that will enhance the learning and experience from their training programme.
