Raising a concern or complaint

If you have a concern about the care that you have received at Nottingham University Hospitals, it is best to try to sort it out straight away.

We work hard to give the highest standards of care but sometimes things can go wrong. If this happens, we do all that we can to put things right for you as quickly as possible and do our best to make sure the same thing doesn't happen again.

These are the two routes available within Nottingham University Hospitals if you wish to raise a concern:

Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) — a confidential advice, support and information service and welcome feedback about our services.

Make a complaint — If you have concerns and aren’t happy with the way your concerns have been dealt with when you raised them with the Trust, you are entitled to make a formal complaint.

If you wish to raise a concern outside of the organisation (NUH) you can do this via:

Raising concerns to external organisations — If you feel your concern isn’t resolved through NUH’s own complaints process or you believe the issue involves matters outside the Trust’s responsibility, there are a number of external organisations you can contact for further support or to raise a concern.
