Radiation Physics

Radiation Physics is a small, highly specialised section within the department of Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering providing support to departments using radiation both for treatment and diagnosis, along with an R&D Imaging Support Unit that is housed within the section. The section is organised into the following functional groups:

Radiation Physics are located at Queens Medical Centre on A-floor, West Block.

Parking in Car Park 3 may provide the easiest access to our QMC offices although Car Park 1 and 2 can be used.

If using car park 3, enter the hospital using the tram stop entrance.

If using car park 1 or 2, enter the hospital using the South Block entrance.

RP Technical support

We provide a comprehensive range of scientific and technical support to NUH, other local NHS trusts, Universities and private healthcare providers. Our main activities include:

Radiation protection support for customers using ionising and non-ionising radiation
Specialist advice on radioactive waste disposal and environmental radiation protection
Research activities in all areas
Providing governance support to a large number of clinical trials
