QMC - visiting times and ward information

Visiting times for most of our wards are between 2.30pm and 8.30pm every day.

Visiting times for our Health Care of Older People (HCOP) wards are longer - between 11am and 8pm every day. (This applies to wards B47, B48, B49, B50, C52, D58, F18, F19 and F20.)

Visiting hours are different too on our children's wards, maternity and neonatal units, and critical care units.

To find contact details and visiting times for a specific ward, please click on the initial letter of the ward name from the lists shown below.

We appreciate that there will be occasions when people want to visit friends or relatives outside normal visiting hours. If you wish to do so, please speak to the nurse in charge of the ward.

Before visiting a family member or friend please read through our visitors' code.

In addition to our HCOP wards, some other wards which see a high number of older adult patients offer relaxed visiting hours where the presence of familiar faces (especially at meal times) can benefit the patient’s care and help minimise distress; for example on our Trauma & Orthopaedic wards at QMC. Trauma & Orthopaedic wards include C4, C5 and C6. Please speak to a member of the ward staff if you would like to know more about whether this is available on the ward you are visiting.
