Nottingham Treatment Centre: latest

Please find below our full statement in response to the latest media coverage on the Nottingham Treatment Centre. We will continue to keep our patients, local community and staff updated as details and next steps for the mobilisation of the 5-year contract are worked through with our Commissioners and Circle.

Tracy Taylor, NUH CEO, said: “The timescale for mobilisation has been determined by the multiple legal challenges which Circle Nottingham Ltd have made to the procurement processes relating to the Treatment Centre over the last 18 months or so. Clearly, we have had to follow the timetable set by those legal proceedings and the constraints that placed on our ability to mobilise. We are prioritising the safe transfer of services and this remains the focus of our discussions with the CCG and Circle. Following the judge’s clear ruling that the CCG should be allowed to enter into a contract with NUH for the future delivery of services from the Treatment Centre, we are now working through, with the CCG, the options regarding timescales for mobilisation.

“NUH’s mobilisation plan sets out how we will deliver safe day one services and run the Treatment Centre moving forward. Its successful implementation is dependent on close working and co-operation between Circle and NUH. We would also point out that our mobilisation plan is constantly being updated and added to, and therefore care should be taken when considering any older versions. NUH’s capacity will not be affected by the transition and the costs associated with mobilisation were part of our bid.

“Within NUH’s bid we detailed our proposals for further improving efficiency and services by delivering more integrated care pathways, including how services can be better provided across primary, secondary and community care. We will implement our proposals which were the subject of our successful bid in due course.”
