Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH) is proud to welcome BBC Radio Nottingham to QMC on Tuesday 16th December, where it will be broadcasting the breakfast show live from Nottingham Children's Hospital.

From 6am until 10am, not only will you hear from the patients, the families and the amazing staff on the Children’s hospital wards but you will get to meet some of the unsung heroes across the hospital who keep everything running; porters, cleaners, catering staff, volunteers and many more incredible people who make a difference every day.

NUH Director of Communications and Engagement, Jack Adlam said; “We’re delighted to welcome BBC Radio Nottingham as they go behind the scenes at one of the biggest and busiest hospitals in the country.

"We greatly value our strong relationships with local media, and partnerships like this help us shine a light on the compassion, expertise, and life-changing work happening every day in our hospitals.

"By sharing these stories, we celebrate what matters most: our patients and the dedicated staff who care for them.”

BBC Radio Nottingham Breakfast show presenter, Summaya Mughal, will be bringing you an exclusive behind the scenes look at the hospital and also how the staff go above and beyond to make a hospital stay over Christmas feel a little brighter.

NUH Director of Nursing and Professions, Rachel Boardman said: "To have BBC Radio Nottingham broadcasting from our Children's Hospital is a fantastic opportunity to highlight our amazing teams, patients and families.

"Our staff work tirelessly to make a difference without expecting any praise or thanks, and especially over Christmas, we want to make being in hospital as uplifting and homely as possible, so staff do go above and beyond.

"To be able to showcase those individuals but also the wider trust and unsung heroes is a real honour to be a part of and I for one will be listening with pride."

If you wish to send messages to loved ones or thank staff for the care you have received, then the breakfast show would love to share as many messages on air as they can. Simply WhatsApp your message or voice-note now to 08000 321 333 and start your message with the word “Notts”.
