Liver Service (Hepatology)
The Nottingham Liver Network provides a high quality specialist hepatology service to the people of Nottingham and Nottinghamshire as well as working with partner healthcare trusts locally.
Our network is based in Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH) NHS Trust. We are a regional referral centre for specialist liver care for a range of conditions. Hepatology inpatient services are provided at the Queens Medical Centre (QMC). Outpatient services are provided at QMC, Treatment Centre and Nottingham City Hospital (NCH).
The department is fortunate to work with specialists from gastroenterology, clinical nutrition, hepato-pancreatico-biliary (HPB) surgery, radiology and histopathology to deliver care to our patients. We work closely with the liver transplant unit at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge.
The department benefits from close links with the University of Nottingham through the NIHR Nottingham Biomedical Research Centre. We are highly research active through national and international clinical trials with opportunities for our patients to become involved in research.
Our team is well engaged with contributing to teaching and training events across NUH.
