Burns unit, Adult and Children's
Our specialist team offers services to patients with acute burn injuries and with problems related to long-term burn scarring.
We provide integrated, multi-disciplinary care involving surgeons, anaesthetists, nursing staff, physiotherapists, nutritionists and psychotherapists. The team co-ordinates care through a weekly multi-disciplinary case review.
We offer a range of surgical treatments, as well as therapy and medical treatments.
Our unit is a leader in providing burn care to patients in their home or in outlying hospitals, through the Burns Outreach Service.
Regional leader
We are a regional leader for adult and children’s burns services in the East Midlands, and our specialist skills and experience mean we also receive patients from other areas of the UK.
We work closely with other burn care hospitals in Birmingham and Leicester as part of the wider Midlands Burn Care Clinical Network.
In addition, we treat many patients with less severe burns through our dedicated outreach service.
