We’re delighted to share that the Trent Simulation and Clinical Skills Centre and H24 Out of Hours project team have won the prestigious Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors President's award at the annual conference at St George’s Park on the 29th April 2025.

This award is given to teams or organisations that have brought Human Factors into the spotlight or been instrumental in incorporating Human Factors in new areas.

This project was nominated for this award not only for their ongoing work since 2021 on an out-of-hours service review and development of a professional wellbeing survey but also for the collaboration and how Human Factors (HF) has been integrated and embedded into the projects with this hospital service (Hospital 24 service). The team were praised for their innovative work, the impact and the importance of this work to the healthcare domain, the collaboration between HF and healthcare professionals, and the team’s approach in trying to bridge the gap between practical projects and the need for academic rigor.

This 3-year collaboration is led by Dr Steve Cantellow, Consultant in Critical Care and would not have been possible without the significant support and input from staff and leaders in H24 service as well as many other teams within NUH.
