Nottingham University Hospitals staff nominated for NHS Parliamentary Awards

We are pleased to announce that, so far, six Nottingham University Hospitals submissions for the Parliamentary Awards have been successfully put forward by local MPs. These are:

1. Prof. Harminder Dua - Lifetime Achievement Award

2. Karen King and Emma Beeton (Oncology Advanced Clinical Practitioners) - Excellence in Healthcare Award

3. Tulsi Patel - NHS Rising Star Award

4. The Nottinghamshire County Fracture Liaison Service (FLS) - The Excellence in Primary Care and Community Care Award

5. BAME Project Strategy Team (including the BAME Ambassadors) - The Health Equalities Award

6. Nottingham University Hospital CT Team - Covid-19 Response Award

The awards were launched in 2018 in line with the NHS’s 70th birthday, with the aim of recognising the contribution of staff, volunteers and all working in the health and care sector. There are 10 categories, and the deadline for MPs to submit their official nominations is the 14 April. Then, the shortlist of regional submissions is announced on 13 June, ahead of an official ceremony in early July which will announce the official winners from across the country. More information on the NHS Parliamentary Awards 2022 can be found here. After the nomination window closes, nominations will be sent to the relevant NHS England and NHS Improvement teams for initial shortlisting. Successful nominations at this stage will then go forward to a regional panel comprised of senior regional NHS England and NHS Improvement representatives. The regional panels will each choose one nomination in each category to go forward to the national judging panel. The regional champions will be announced in June. Membership of the national judging panel will then score each of the shortlisted nominations and select an overall winner for each category. Nominations remain open until 14th April. Should you wish to submit a nomination, please contact NUH.Communications@nuh.nhs.uk.

Congratulations to all those that have so far made the first round of official nominations.
