NUH partners with BBC Radio Nottingham for ‘Check Yer Sehn’ campaign

Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH) is supporting a new BBC Local Radio health awareness initiative, ‘Check Ye r Sehn’, in collaboration with BBC Radio Nottingham.

The campaign encourages people to regularly check their bodies for potential health concerns and highlights how early detection can significantly improve treatment outcomes.

NUH clinicians are sharing expert advice and practical guidance to help listeners understand what to look out for and when to seek medical support.

BBC Radio Nottingham listeners will hear from NUH testicular cancer specialists Lucy Gossage, Consultant Oncologist, and Nicola Wilshaw, Oncology Nurse Specialist, who will explain why regular testicular checks are important.

The broadcasts will also include NUH patients sharing their personal  experiences of testicular cancer diagnosis and treatment, helping to bring the message to life.

Campaign coverage will run across radio and social  media, with live discussions on BBC Radio Nottingham throughout the week from  5 May to 9 May

‘Check Ye r Sehn ’ forms part of a wider year -long focus on raising awareness of “hidden” health conditions. Future campaign activity will cover a range of self  checks, including breast, bowel and poo checks, reinforcing the role of early detection in achieving better health outcomes.

NUH is proud to partner with the BBC on this crucial awareness raising campaign.
