International Women's Week 2022

This year’s theme is #BreakTheBias. We’ve got an exciting package of webinars, inspirational stories and resources around that theme that we’ll be running across the entire week for our staff and system partners.

We hope that all staff, and system partners can join our engaging sessions, details of which are below. All webinars will be recorded and have Q&As. Questions can be sent in advance to elizabeth.norris@nuh.nhs.uk. Please copy the MS Teams links into your diary or just ask if you’d like the invites forwarding to you.

Mon 7 March at 1.30 – 2pm

Breaking the bias - women leading ‘traditionally male-led’ professions with Miriam Duffy, Beth Beeson, Donna Jones and Emma James.

An interactive and insightful session on holding your own and succeeding as a female leader, as well advice for colleagues trying to support other that are underrepresented in professions, as well as a Q&A.

Join this engaging session to hear from some of our female board members who are leading NUH through a very challenging time. Including reflections on the recent ‘Big Conversation’, the gender pay gap and taking Q&As.

A relaxed and interactive session in which some of our female medical leaders will talk about their experiences and answer your questions. Amongst other things, topics include work/life balance, believing in yourself, applying for CEA awards, combining a successful career with outside interests, career pathways and top tips.

International Women’s Week talk  and Q&A with Stacy Johnson MBE

Stacy will be sharing her story as a woman of colour who has been breaking down barriers in the NHS and academia. She’ll also talk about ‘opening doors and holding doors open for others’, as well as various topics around International Women’s Day. She will be taking questions too.

Fri 11 March 1- 1.30pm - Allyship, chaired by Tim Guyler, joined by Matt Bodell, Aquiline Chivinge, Onyinye Enwezor and Marion Mangalindan.
This session will explore being an ally to those in under represented groups. A brilliant opportunities for all to learn about the topic, in a safe, open environment.
