Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH) is pleased to share that The British Nuclear Medicine Society has awarded the Norman Veall Medal 2023 to the Trust's Divisional Director of Ambulatory Care, Claire Greaves.

Claire has been awarded the Norman Veall Medal for her exceptional contributions to the field of Nuclear Medicine. Claire has worked in Nuclear Medicine for over 30 years and has demonstrated significant expertise in a range of areas including radiation protection, regulatory frameworks, service delivery and leadership.
More recently she has demonstrated the potential of the clinical scientist workforce beyond nuclear medicine and medical physics by being appointed as the first non-medical Divisional Director at NUH.
About the Norman Veall Medal
In 1991 a decision was made by Council to honour the memory of the late Dr. Norman Veall, one of the pioneers of nuclear medicine in this country, by asking members to contribute to a Norman Veall prize.
Commemorative medals have been struck and will be presented to the recipients of the award.
The first medal was awarded at the Society’s Annual Meeting in London in March 1994 and the award is now usually made annually to a clinical scientist who has made an outstanding contribution to the science and/or practice of nuclear medicine in the United Kingdom.
A panel comprising the President and two past Presidents, review nominations and award this medal.
