Statement on deferral of some Chemotherapy treatment at NUH - September 2021

8th October 2021

Following the difficult and regrettable clinical decision to limit chemotherapy treatments for some patients at NUH last month - due to capacity and staffing issues - we have an upated position:

Dr Simon Roe, Divisional Director for Cancer and Associated Services at NUH said: “With the support of other Trusts and providers we have now restarted chemotherapy for all patients who had their treatment paused in September. We have contacted these patients directly to explain that their treatment will resume.

“We are also in the process of starting treatment for new patients who were unable to start treatment last month”.
