A gesture to say thank you on a warm summer’s day. Nottingham University Hospitals’ Trust treats staff to ice-creams.

Nottingham University Hospitals’ Trust (NUH) staff members were treated to a free ice cream by way of showing appreciation for their incredible work.
This small gesture was funded by donations received by Nottingham Hospitals Charity, specifically for staff wellbeing, and what better way to use it during the current hot summer days.
An Ice-Cream Van visited both QMC and City Hospital sites, and a special delivery was also organised for NUH’s Ropewalk House.
Jack Adlam, Director of Communications and Engagement, said: "During this recent hot weather, our colleagues have once again gone above and beyond to keep our patients safe and as comfortable as possible.
"While colleagues care for our patients, it’s important to do all we can to support them.
"Thanks to funding from Nottingham Hospitals Charity, we can provide a small token of thanks and appreciation to our colleagues with a free ice cream."
Staff were informed of times and locations at both sites and queues formed in readiness in the humid weather.
The gesture of free ice-creams forms part of a series of thank-you initiatives for all staff that are taking place throughout the year.
Laura Peberday, Head of marketing and communications at the Charity said: “Nottingham Hospitals Charity is in awe of our amazing NHS team here at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.
“We were happy to support the initiative to provide a cold treat to our staff onsite today.
“And to those staff who missed out today, don't worry, we have more staff well-being initiatives planned for the rest of this year.”
