Hospital bosses hope a move to digital patient correspondence will help cut the number of missed appointments (DNA), which cost the NHS around £1bn a year.
The move – which is being rolled out by Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH) NHS Trust - will reduce postage costs and the Trust’s carbon footprint.

The IT issue that we experienced yesterday (23 November) has now been resolved and we are able to process and report on blood samples as normal.

An ongoing IT issue is significantly impacting our ability to process and report on blood samples, slowing down our clinical decision making. This is delaying our ability to discharge people and resulting in long ambulance waits and overcrowding in our Emergency Department (ED) at the Queen’s Medical Centre.
