Speech and language therapy pilot will help improve patient experience

Nottingham University Hospital (NUH) NHS Trust has launched a pilot of dedicated Speech and Language Therapists (SALT) in their Emergency Department (ED) which will target getting patients eating and drinking earlier, improving the patient experience and supporting earlier discharge from hospital.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has published the results of the National Maternity Survey for 2022. The aim of the survey is to find out what people think about their experiences of antenatal care, childbirth and postnatal care. It is part of CQC’s national patient survey programme to improve experiences of maternity care.

A mum who has helped give Nottinghamshire NHS patients and carers a voice for almost 30 years has been recognised in the first King’s New Year’s Honours.
Trish Cargill, from Cotgrave, is the chair of the Patient Participation Group (PPG), which works in partnership with Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH) Trust.
