There is currently significant demand for all NHS services with hospitals seeing a high number of patients arriving at emergency departments. Our staff are doing everything in their power to care for patients in a safe and timely way, but the high number of people needing care and the reduction in staffing levels mean there are very long waits in our A&E and for admission to our wards.

The NHS is warning the public of severe disruption to services as we head into the New Year.
Junior doctors are taking part in a second round of industrial action from 7am on 3 January 2024 until 7am on 9 January 2024. This period of action is set to cause severe delays to NHS services as January is already a difficult time for the NHS due to the pressures of winter.
