Billy Hunter, City Endoscopy Unit Manager
Billy is a compassionate and dedicated manager who puts staff and patient wellbeing first. He leads by example, promotes the Trust’s values, and fosters a supportive, respectful team environment. Approachable and empathetic, Billy is always available to listen, offer guidance, and help with personal or professional challenges. His open-door policy, fairness, and sense of humour create a workplace where staff feel valued and happy.
Cherry Lane, Ward Manager
Cherry has transformed her ward into one of the most desirable places to work. Her leadership is defined by compassion, approachability, and a genuine commitment to staff wellbeing. Cherry ensures everyone feels valued and heard through her open-door policy, she is always visible, open to new ideas, and truly leads by example. Under her leadership, the ward has become a happy and welcoming environment for both staff and patients.
General Surgery Team
To reduce rising reattendance rates, a digital follow-up pathway was developed and piloted by the General Surgery Team to improve patient experience, detect complications early, and reduce emergency visits. The goal was to improve outcomes, reduce reattendances, and deliver patient-focused digital care, all of which have been achieved - resulting in a safe, efficient, and scalable model for post-op care.
Rachel Boardman, Director of Nursing and Professions
Rachel is a compassionate and inclusive leader who inspires teams through integrity, clarity, and collaboration. She has improved staff experience, patient outcomes, and professional development through visionary yet practical leadership. She champions equity, listens to all voices and drives innovation through evidence-based practice. Rachel is known for supporting talent, listening to frontline staff, and fostering an open, accountable culture.
Sue Bull, Sexual Health Sister
Sue is a compassionate leader and role model to many. She leads from the front in supporting her team to deliver sexual health across Nottinghamshire. She goes above and beyond for patients and staff, sharing her knowledge with kindness and motivating others. Respected across all teams, Sue leads with fairness, professionalism, and a “we’ll make it work” attitude. Her inspirational qualities, warmth, and tireless commitment deserved to be recognised.
