How This Statement Will Be Monitored and Evaluated

To ensure that the principles outlined in this Statement of Intent are effectively implemented and upheld, NUH is committed to a structured process of monitoring, evaluating, and publishing performance against annual metrics for scrutiny as listed in appendix 5.

The Statement will be reviewed annually by the Trust Board to assess its impact and ensure that it reflects any changes in our governance, policies, or regulatory requirements as an organisation. In addition, the key principles outlined in this Statement will be integrated into our Annual Governance Statement, allowing us to evaluate progress as part of our regular reporting framework.

For a more detailed review of the implementation and effectiveness of the Statement, the NUH Audit Committee will take on the responsibility of monitoring its ongoing application. The Audit Committee will ensure that there is a consistent approach across the Trust, identify areas for improvement, and make recommendations where necessary to further strengthen our commitment to accountability.

Through this approach, we aim to embed accountability within our governance processes and ensure that we continuously strive for transparency, integrity, and improvement across all areas of the Trust’s operations.
