Travel by tram

The QMC is the only hospital in the country with a dedicated tram stop.

Trams run every 7 minutes during peak times.

There is a bridge connecting the tram stop to the B Floor level of QMC and direct access from the tram stop into the Treatment Centre.

Timetables and routes

Fares and tickets

Tickets must be purchased using the tram stop ticket machines or on your mobile phone using 'My Mobile Tickets' before getting on the tram. You cannot buy tickets on board the tram.

A range of monthly and annual passes can also be bought online through the NET website, or from the NET Travel Centre.

Combined bus and tram travel

Mango Cards for Trent Barton buses can also be used on the tram. Find out more here.

Our Medilink runs every 10 minutes, Monday to Friday between Queen's Drive and Wilkinson Street park and ride sites and QMC and City Hospital.

Easylink bus service

Easylink is an accessible bus service run by Community Transport for Nottingham.

It is a door-to-door service designed to support customers who find the main bus and tram network difficult to use.

Travel by bike

There are excellent cycle routes leading to the QMC and City Hospital. A cycle map is available below or you can plan your journey online by visiting the CycleStreets website.


Parking your bicycle

There are spaces for more than 100 bicycles at both hospital sites.

At City Hospital, there is a Citycard Cycle Hub located on the South Road opposite Clinical Haematology. At QMC, there is a Hub located under the Tram stop, near to the Treatment Centre. To access the Citycard Cycle Hubs, you must first be registered. You can do this by visiting Russell’s Bike Shed on Queens Road on the south side of Nottingham Station. To receive a Citycard Cycle Card, there is a registration charge of £5. This will give you access to all the Council hubs in Nottingham. For more details, please visit the Citycard website.

In addition to these compounds, there are open air Sheffield stands available at both sites.
