League of Friends art gallery
It is now over 25 years since the Peggy Greenfield Gallery was opened. It is managed by Esther Ashkenazi and her dedicated team of volunteers.
The gallery exhibits paintings, photographs or embroidery by local artists with new work exhibited every two weeks. It also holds a daily craft stall where artists and vendors donate 20% of the selling price to the League of Friends.
The gallery is in the West Block on D Floor of QMC and is open 24 hours a day all year round. It provides a focal point for informal relaxation and enjoyment for QMC staff, patients and visitors and in the process it benefits the League of Friends. Since its inception, the Peggy Greenfield Gallery has raised more than £100,000 for the League of Friends. This could not have happened without the selfless commitment of several volunteers, most notably Margaret Spencer, Marion Duckering, Rita Kerstein and Olive Smith. But we now urgently need to have new volunteers join the team and help us out.
