It is a great place for the shopper, with more than 1,300 retail outlets. There are several big name department stores and two major shopping centres, the Victoria Centre and the Broadmarsh Centre.
The city is one of the most energy efficient cities in the UK, producing 11.5% of its own power and generating more than 3% of its heat and power through renewable sources and waste.
