Paul Swift will be giving a talk / slide presentation for the League starting at 11am at Standard Court, Park Row, NG1 6GN (the former Nottingham General Hospital). Paul’s talk will be ‘Nottingham General Hospital, it’s people and personalities’. Refreshments will be available and the venue will be the boardroom (former Mabel Player ward, Jubilee Wing).

Paul Swift, Honorary Archivist, Nottingham University Hospitals gave a talk on the History of Nottingham General Hospital. This was held in the board room (in the former Mabel Player ward, Jubilee wing).
Nottinghamshire Nurses’ and Midwives’ Celebration Tea Party for International Nurses Day 2016

International Nurses Day is celebrated around the world every May 12, the anniversary of Florence Nightingale's birth and International Day of the Midwife is celebrated on May 5. This was the fourth year of tea party celebrations here in Nottingham.

The meeting was held in The Treatment Centre at Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham.
Members were welcomed to the Treatment Centre by Trevor Ride (Chairman NNL) and Lisa Carroll, Chief Nurse and Head of Governance, Circle Health and were given a tour of the facilities. Tony Paine gave a talk and a video presentation about Jack Bamford who was awarded the George Cross in 1952.

President of the Nottingham Nurses League Retires from Trust
Jenny Leggott retired from Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust on 31 October 2014, from her position as Deputy Chief Executive and Director of Nursing & Midwifery. An event was held on 16 October 2014 to celebrate her contribution to the Trust and to nursing and midwifery.
At this event, Trevor Ride, Chairman of Nottingham Nurses' League, gave an excellent presentation on the History and Development of Nursing in Nottingham since the 1940s.
A raffle held at this event raised £195.50 for the Nottingham Nurses' League Bursary Fund.
Annual General Meeting held on 11 October 2014
Tony Paine gave an excellent presentation on the History of Nursing in Nottingham.
Freda Ingall, Committee Member and Carol Jenkins, Honorary Treasurer officially retired as Executive Committee Members.
Committee Members officially elected were Dr Jo Cooper as Honorary Treasurer and Matron Hannah Docherty as Committee Member.
Tea party held on 17 May 2014
The May tea party incorporated the League's spring meeting and was in celebration of International Nurses Day 2014.
The event held at the Cityside Restaurant was very well attended and money was raised from a prize draw in support of the new bursary fund launched by the League this year.
"The hospitality was most enjoyable but I think the atmosphere brought about by the several and various nursing projects presented by students and other nurses surpassed our greatest hopes for the future of nursing in Nottingham." Gillian Sills
