If you have symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) – a high temperature, a new continuous cough, or a loss of, or change in, your normal sense of smell or taste (anosmia) – the advice is to stay at home for 10 days. All members of this household should remain at home for 14 days.

If you think you have symptoms, please do not attend your hospital appointment until you are advised it is safe to do so. Please contact us to rearrange your appointment, or to re-organise treatment and tests.

Rotation opportunities

If you're a newly-qualified, or a current Staff Nurse at Team NUH, you could take part in our Rotation Programme to develop your experience and take the next step in your career.

Our Programme takes place over 18 months. You'll work for 6 or 9 months within different areas following a specific pathway, i.e. Acute Medicine, Trauma Pathway, Medical Pathway and Surgical Pathway, gaining knowledge and experience in different areas of nursing. For information on the Children's Hospital Rotation programme please click here.

Our Preceptorship Team works closely with clinical areas to ensure that both our Band 5 nurse/s on rotation and the ward staff are well supported.

Newly qualified nurses, and those new to acute care who are undertaking the Rotation Programme, will also receive:

  • Access to courses such as the Acute Care Skills Course and Preceptorship Development Day
  • 4-month formal preceptorship or informal preceptorship up to 1 year
  • Protected learning time in the first year of practice
  • A bespoke Preceptorship Pathway Booklet to structure your rotation programme
