Every year thousands of patients don't turn up for their appointments. This is costly for the hospital and wastes valuable staff time and resources. Most of all, it means other people may have to wait longer than they need to for appointments.
If you cannot make your appointment, no longer need it or want to rearrange it, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can give the appointment to another patient.
Change your appointment
If you can't make your appointment at QMC, City Hospital or Ropewalk for any reason, please:
- Phone the clinic number on your appointment card between 8.30am and 4.30pm. Please have your appointment letter or card to hand as you will be asked for your hospital number.
- Use one of our online forms to change or cancel your outpatient, radiology or nuclear medicine appointment. You can find these forms in the menu on the left or by following the links here. Please do not use these forms unless there are at least two working days before your appointment date. If you are changing or cancelling with less than two working days' notice, please contact the clinic directly.
Once we have received your request to change your appointment, we will contact you within three working days by the method you have selected on the form to agree a convenient date and time for your new appointment. If your request is to cancel your appointment, we will cancel your appointment on our computer system and will not contact you to offer a new appointment.
- If you need any additional help or advice please contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS).
Please check your appointment letter - if your appointment is at the Nottingham Treatment Centre you will need to contact them directly by calling 0115 970 5800 to rearrange or cancel your appointment.
