Many supermarket chains are offering specific benefits or opening hours in store for NHS staff these can be found below:

Tesco- Tesco is offering a dedicated NHS shopping hour between 9am-10am on Tuesday's, Thursday's and a browsing hour at the same time on Sunday morning in store. You must have your NHS ID badge for entry

Sainsbury’s- Sainsbury’s are offering access to their stores 30 minutes early every day to NHS staff. Staff must produce a valid NHS ID to gain entry.

ASDA- Entry to NHS staff with a valid ID badge Monday, Wednesday and Friday 8am-9am.

Morrisons- Entry to NHS staff with a valid ID card Monday-Saturday 7am-8am. Morrisons are also offer essential food boxes to order online visit: You can order either a vegetarian box or a meat eater’s box both priced at £35. They are now offering a 10% to NHS workers on production of a valid ID card this will run until September.

Waitrose- Waitrose is putting aside essential products for NHS staff. To gain access to these you must ask in store and present a valid NHS ID badge. They are also offering priority checkout to NHS staff.

Iceland- Iceland are dedicating the final hour or trading Monday-Saturday for NHS staff.

Aldi- Aldi are opening the store half an hour early on Sundays for NHS staff (09:30-10:00)

M&S Food- M&S are offering the first hour of trading on Mondays and Thursdays- Please check your local store times and take along your NHS badge.

Co-op- Co-op is opening Monday-Saturday 8am-9am and Sunday 10am-11am. Entrance on production a valid NHS ID Badge.

Pets at HomePets at home are opening their doors between 8-9am on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays exclusively to NHS employees. Outside of these hours, they will have a fast track entrance and dedicated checkout lane to serve all NHS employees. Whenever they shop in store we will give 10% off their shopping and 10% off their veterinary costs at Vets4Pets, Companion Care and our specialist hospitals. Beginnings Nursery- based in Mapperley will be staying open during this crisis period. They have some availability and are a nursery that opened in November 2019. During this period, we will not be charging our usual £75 deposit. Headspace - this is a mindfulness/meditation app which has strong scientific evidence behind it to reduce anxiety and stress levels. There are also specific meditations for things like sleep, work, relationships etc. NUH staff can now access this for FREE for the next 3 months. Visit to sign up.
