Macmillan cancer support

We work closely with Macmillan Cancer Support in Nottinghamshire to develop the Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Centre at Nottingham City Hospital and QMC. The service is staffed by a Macmillan Cancer Information Specialist and Officer and a team of Macmillan volunteers who can provide information and support at any stage of your cancer journey.

We provide a confidential drop-in service for anyone affected by cancer including patients, relatives, friends and healthcare professionals. We also support families who have lost a loved one to cancer.

If you or someone close to you is affected by cancer, some of the services we can provide are:

  • one to one emotional support
  • benefit and financial advice including accessing grants
  • advice about specific cancers, treatments and side effects
  • advice about travel insurance and holidays
  • information and support to help you talk to loved ones including children

We will talk to you about any concerns you may have and aim to answer any questions.  We also provide a comprehensive signposting service.
