Improving Health & Social care
Alex will discuss four main value points which can be experienced through the early integration of HF in strategies for improvement and new interventions. The seminar will invite participants to consider ways in which HF integration could be promoted and encouraged within the local context.
Bio
Dr Alexandra Lang is a Human Factors Specialist working for Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust and is an Honorary Associate Professor in Healthcare Human Factors at the University of Nottingham.
She has over 10 years’ experience in applying and researching Human Factors in healthcare systems, in the UK and internationally. Alex's uses her research experience to support teaching of HF, focussing on the application of HFE to improve the quality and safety of healthcare provision and experience. She has particular research interests in the design, implementation and evaluation of healthcare technologies, the interface between health and social care and how healthcare socio-technical systems are experienced by different populations.
Alex leads the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors (CIEHF) Healthcare Special Interest Group and recently co-led the authorship of the CIEHF White Paper - Human Factors for Health and Social Care. She is the Human Factors Expert Consultant for the Difficult Airways Society (DAS) HF Committee and an affiliate member of the Centre for Healthcare Technologies (University of Nottingham).
