New South entrance due summer 2017

Plans for a dedicated tram entrance with direct access from the platform into the main hospital are progressing. It is hoped that the new entrance will be in place by summer 2017.

We are very mindful, based on the regular feedback we receive from passengers and our team of tram volunteers, of the inconvenience this causes many passengers, especially those with mobility issues.

The new platform will give direct access into the south side of QMC, and will mean passengers don’t have to walk long distances to get into the hospital. This will significantly improve access for patients, visitors and staff.

On average, 2,000 passengers use the tram to get to QMC daily. The tram stop has been operational since August 2015.
