If you have symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) – a high temperature, a new continuous cough, or a loss of, or change in, your normal sense of smell or taste (anosmia) – the advice is to stay at home for seven days. All members of this household should remain at home for 14 days.

If you think you have symptoms, please do not attend your hospital appointment until you are advised it is safe to do so. Please contact us to rearrange your appointment, or to re-organise treatment and tests.

End of Life Care: SWAN

We are proud to announce the SWAN model of care is now in use across NUH to improve the way patients and their loved ones spend their last days together.

SWAN is an initiative that acts as an enabler for quality at the end of life. It enables all staff to provide equitable care and compassion for patients and their families who die in our care, encompassing end of life care, bereavement care and organ / tissue donation. It provides openness in the culture that providing quality end of life care is everyone’s business. It is part of NUHs EOL strategy, where the focus is to ensure we support staff to provide the best experience for patients and their loved ones.

Swan offers dedicated support to patients in their last days of life and to their families into bereavement and beyond, offering choice and enabling staff to think outside of the box when delivering end of life care to cater to individual’s needs.

SWAN is the next step that takes us above and beyond what we currently deliver; it goes that extra mile.
