The Easter Bank Holiday weekend is upon us and we want to make sure our patients and visitors are fully prepared and informed of the changes to some services.
Opening hours for our catering outlets, transport arrangements and alternative places of care – such as GP surgeries – will all alter over the four-day weekend. All the information you require is below to ensure you are well prepared for your visit to our hospitals.
Getting the care you need:
Our Emergency Care services are expected to be busy over the Easter weekend. We are encouraging the public to consider alternatives such as:
- NHS111 – this is the number you need to call for urgent medical concerns to you or a family member fall ill over the holiday period
- Pharmacies – there are pharmacies open across the city over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend. Click here for opening times
Please remember that GP surgeries will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday. If you are unsure which urgent care service you require over the Easter weekend, click here for more information.
Getting to QMC or City Hospital:
There will be reduced public transport services over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend. The Medilink bus service will not be running between Good Friday and Bank Holiday Monday, with all services resuming on Tuesday 23 April.
The tram service, which stops at QMC, will be running every day with a Sunday service scheduled for Good Friday and Easter Monday.
Catering at NUH:
Please note that the Restaurant on D Floor, and the Costa Coffee outlet on B Floor at QMC will both be closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday, reopening on Tuesday 23 April.
