If you have symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) – a high temperature, a new continuous cough, or a loss of, or change in, your normal sense of smell or taste (anosmia) – the advice is to stay at home for seven days. All members of this household should remain at home for 14 days.

If you think you have symptoms, please do not attend your hospital appointment until you are advised it is safe to do so. Please contact us to rearrange your appointment, or to re-organise treatment and tests.

Digestive diseases centre referrals

Gastroenterology and liver clinics are held at Nottingham City Hospital and QMC campuses. QMC clinics are provided through Circle and both can be accessed via NHS eReferrals. Specialist clinics for liver transplantation, transition from children's to adult care, and nutrition services are accessible by direct referral - please fax to 0115 9709012.

Nottinghamshire adult liver disease stratification pathway

Nottingham City GPs can now refer eligible patients directly into NUH (QMC campus) for a liver assessment using Fibroscan® via the liver disease stratification pathway. The scan can be ordered via the Hepatology Tab on ICE, but for patients with diabetes and metabolic syndrome a calculation called the Fatty Liver index - or FLI for short - will need to be undertaken. This will be automatically calculated by entering the relevant figures (BMI, waist circumference, triglycerides and GammaGT) into the FLI calculator below.
