Recognising our volunteers’ Long Service

Recognising our volunteers’ Long Service

Today we recognised the outstanding contribution of 62 volunteers who this year celebrate long service to our hospitals - with a staggering1,312 years of combined service.

Our team of 1,550 volunteers working across QMC, City Hospital and Ropewalk House are vital and valued members of 'team NUH'.

62 volunteers were recognised for reaching key milestones in 2017; 5 years, 10 years, 15 years, 20 years, 25 years, through to an impressive 30 years' of service.

This annual event was hosted by our Chief Executive Peter Homa and Chair Eric Morton. Volunteers were presented with a commemorative badge and certificate in recognition of their service to NUH.

Peter said: "On behalf of the NUH Trust Board, I would like to thank our volunteers for all they do. Our volunteers contribute significantly to the soul of our organisation and enrich the lives of so many we serve - patients, their families and carers. Our volunteers are intimate and valued members of the NUH family, and today's event was all about saying 'thank you' for their dedication and for the difference they make."

After the formal presentation, award winners and their guests enjoyed a celebratory meal at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Thank you to the QMC and City League of Friends for kindly sponsoring this year's Volunteer Long Service Awards and for all they do to support NUH."
