Maternity Support (Paternity) Leave

Eligible employees have the option of taking Ordinary Paternity Leave (2 weeks leave to be taken within 56 days of the child’s birth or placement of a child) and Additional Paternity leave (maximum of 26 weeks) to be taken between 20 weeks and one year after the child’s birth or placement.

You will need to download the following:

Employees should complete the request form with their manager. This should then be forwarded to pay services together with a copy of the relevant paperwork:

Ordinary Paternity Leave:

  • MATB1 Certificate or Matching Certificate
  • Relevant Inland Revenue form

Additional Paternity Leave:

  • Birth Certificate or Matching Certificate
  • Relevant Inland Revenue form
  • Employment details of the child’s mother or adopter.
