

Please download the guidelines that are relevant to yourself; these will give you all the information that you need for taking maternity leave. (Scroll down for Managers Guidelines).
You will then need to download the following documents:
Employee Guidelines – please read this carefully, it should answer all your questions regarding maternity leave and your entitlement.
Notification to take maternity leave form, this should be completed with your manager who will then complete your maternity schedule.
Your manager will then forward your schedule to pay services, together with your MATB1 certificate that can be obtained from your midwife. Please note that without this certificate, pay services cannot process your maternity pay.
The Health & Safety Policy for new and expectant mothers has the guidelines for a Risk Assessment that must be carried out as soon as possible after your pregnancy has been confirmed.
The Checklist is simply there as an aid to help and remind you of the various tasks that need to be carried out before your maternity leave.
Please note that maternity leave, in normal circumstances, always starts on a Sunday and ends on a Saturday. If your baby is born before your maternity leave was scheduled to begin, your maternity leave will begin on the day of your baby’s birth. Click here for the date calculator.
