Walking at NUH

Walking is an easy way to fit activity into your day, its cheap, easy and you can combine it with getting to work to save time. We hold regular pedometer challenges throughout the year to provide additional motivation to walk more. You can find out more on the team challenges page or by emailing us at healthandwellbeing@nuh.nhs.uk

You can download our walk maps to get ideas of walks around each campus or how to commute by foot from home or from the park and ride sites.

Nordic Walking

Borrow some Nordic Walking poles—we’ve got a few pairs of poles of different sizes which we can lend to staff. If you’ve had a go at Nordic Walking in the past and want to try again but don’t have the opportunity to get to a class here’s a great opportunity to give it a go. You will need to complete a simple booking form, sign a disclaimer to say you know how to use the poles and leave a £5 deposit. Interested? Email healthandwellbeing@nuh.nhs.uk
