WRVS (Women's Royal Voluntary Service)

The WRVS volunteers run several very busy cafés across both NUH Campuses. Volunteers also take trolleys of refreshments around the wards and outpatients departments supplying refreshment to individuals who cannot gain access to their cafes.

Nottingham Hospitals' Radio (NHR)

Volunteers are involved in all aspects of running a busy radio station that broadcasts to the NUH each weekday evening and all day on weekends and public holidays. Typical tasks include, ward visiting to collect requests, fund raising, organising programmes, collecting information and, for a very few of the volunteers ‘broadcasting on air’.

League of Friends NUH

The League of Friends currently has two separate groups that independently operate from each NUH Campuses organising fund raising activities in order to raise monies for new hospital equipment and the upgrading, of relative overnight stay areas.

QMC campus Ophthalmology League of friends

The Ophthalmology League of Friends organise fund raising activities in order to raise monies specifically for the Ophthalmic Department.

QMC campus Red Cross - Home from hospital

Trained volunteers offer support to vulnerable people in their homes following discharge from the medical wards at QMC. Tel: 0115 924 9924 extension 62495 or 61716.

QMC campus Nottingham Royal Society for the Blind (NRSB)

Link Service provides support to patients attending the Eye Clinic, such as information on community care, welfare and benefits advice. Tele: 0115 970 6806.
