Queen's day case unit

On the Queen’s Day Case Unit (QDCU) we perform neurological, neurosurgical, spinal and medical investigations, treatments and day case surgical procedures, including vascular and orthopaedic day case procedures on the Queen's Daycase Unit at QMC.

We also carry out gastroenterology, orthopaedic and neurosurgical pre-operative assessments and we have an on-the-day admissions suite for patients undergoing elective neurosurgical, spinal and orthopaedic surgery.

Patients attend our unit for routine appointments and through referral from their GP, the Emergency Department or from a clinic appointment. The unit is divided into a reception area and separate patient areas, with five consultation rooms and an assessment room.
