These web pages are designed to introduce you to the unit, showing you some photographs of the different areas.

The maternity unit booklet, given to all women who book to give birth to their babies with us, offers more detailed information. In addition there are leaflets on this website which you can download. Click here for a complete list.

The maternity unit is situated on two floors in East Block. The antenatal area, B26 ward, the delivery suite with midwife-led care unit, maternity theatres and the neonatal unit are on B floor, with C29 ward on C floor. There is an East block entrance to the hospital on A floor, and the main entrance which is on B floor just off the Derby Road. There are limited ‘drop off/pick up’ bays outside both entrances.

The visiting hours are as follows:

Partners: 9am to 9pm
Other relatives and friends: 2.30pm to 8.30pm

Women are encouraged to have a rest period between 1.30pm and 2.30pm, when they will not be disturbed.
