Travel by bicycle

The Trust actively promotes cycling as an alternative way of getting to work and as such there are secure cycling facilities on both Campuses, plus changing and showering facilities.

Travelling to QMC Campus by Bicycle

Every day more and more people get into the saddle and navigate around Nottingham on their bikes.  It’s quick, easy, cheap and it’s great for your health and wellbeing.

NUH is dedicated to encouraging and supporting visitors to use cycling as a more environmentally friendly form of transport.

Directions and travel - QMC Campus

There are excellent cycle tracks leading to QMC. The UK Charity Sustrans, in partnership with NUH and Cycle City Guides, have produced an NUH Cycle Map. To view this map please click here. You can plan your journey to the hospital online by visiting the National Cycle Journey Planner.

Alternatively, if you’re cycling around Nottingham then check out the free online cycle maps of the north and south of the City.  They are specially made with cyclists in mind and give you lots of information and tips to get around safely and easily.

Both maps have also now been combined and updated on a brand new, city wide cycle map, produced by Nottingham City Council. Free copies can be collected from a variety of locations including the NUH Health & Wellbeing office at Curie Court (call ext64771 first), libraries, leisure centres and the Tourism Information Office. The City Council would also be happy to send you one out - please email transport.strategy@nottinghamcity.gov.uk or call 0115 876 3942 with your details.

You can see the map and find out more information on the City Council website at http://www.nottinghamcity.gov.uk/cycling.

There are also cycle maps produced by Nottingham City Council showing Hucknall, Strelley and Clifton commuter cycle routes.
